Kerry, Ireland
Ireland countryside has an amazingly unbridaled beauty to it. After recently visiting Ireland, I am absolutely blown away by it’s beauty and charming landscape. Kerry Ireland was was by far one of my favorite places of travel.
Kenmare is a very quaint and quiet village in the southwestern part of Ireland. With many great options for a great meal with family or friends. Kenmare is surrounding by beautiful scenery of rolling vibrant green hills and sheep. With a group of 11 people we stayed in one of the cutest and most spacious cottage Kenmare had to offer. The cottage overlooked the gorgeous Kenmare bay cradled by hills and mountains. HomeAway Cottage
Gleninchaquin Falls one of the most jaw dropping scenes Ireland has to offer on a bluebird sunny day. When we arrived there were fields on fields of sheep in some of the most vibrant greenery. With the falls cascading in the background of a sheep farm it was nothing short of a magical story book. Once we went inside to reception and man working asked if we wanted to feed the lambs. OF COURSE WE DID! Jimmy and Matilda were the two lambs we got to cuddle and feed. When at the falls there is also a hiking trail to the top bridge, where you can watch the falls cascade down the mountain side (we were not well equipped for this hike). Our group did not make it up the whole thing, but I bet the views were amazing.
The Ring of Kerry was an amazing if you have the right tour guide! Luckily my cousin had found a man by the name of Paul who did an amazing tour to justify the Ring of Kerry. If you are just driving in a rental car you will not get the details and scenery that the ring has to offer. The Ring is a full day of touring and stopping at some of the most unbelieve sights I had seen on the trip. Booking a tour with Paul will not be regretted. Browns Taxi & Tours
Valentia Island was one of my favorite stops on the Ring of Kerry tour. With stunning greenery, caribbean blue waters and historic buildings, I was in love! While being surrounded by water there were still many sheep and cattle. Off the coast are the Skelligs, Skellig Michael, featured in Star Wars : The Last Jedi are cool rock formations. Unfortunately we were not there during the season of being able to visit the island.
After a stop for lunch, we went straight to the Cliffs of Kerry, on the Ring of Kerry tour. The cliffs was one of the most stunning sights I have ever seen. With the bright blue waves crashing at the foot of the rocky and moss filled cliffs, it was a sight I could watch for hours.
From Kenmare Blarney Castle was about an hour and a half car ride. If you ask a true Irishmen they might say it a tourist trap. Yet I still thought it was unbelievable how old the castle was and history behind it. Luckily our group went straight away in the morning to try an avoid the lines. If you are going to kiss the stone chances are there will be a line to kiss the Blarney Stone. To Kiss the the Stone you must lay on your back bend upside down and reach with your lips to kiss it. It was actually kind of terrifying. The stone is located at the very top of the castle. When bent backwards you can see how high up you are. I think I may have the gift of gab now.
